The Resource Directory is a partial list of the resources available in our community, and is meant to be a starting point to help you identify services and providers. Please note that Safe+Sound Somerset cannot vouch for any of these resources. Search websites, ask for recommendations from friends and peers, and call or email a potential service provider to decide whether or not something is the right fit for you.

Provides services for low- and moderate-income families covering Homebuyer Education, foreclosure and delinquency counseling, and financial literacy. Affordable housing info and guide on website. Walk-ins not available due to high demand - by appointment only.

Central hub of professional and community resources for Franklin Twp. residents
Habitat for Humanity – Raritan Valley
Offers homes to low and medium income level families, plus homeownership classes. Serving Hunterdon and Somerset Counties.
HOME of Somerset County, Inc.
Multifaith organization, serving houseless families with emergency shelter, transitional homes, counseling, and more services. Partners with local congregations.
HOPES Community Action Partnership, Inc.
Variety of community services for 3 counties including Somerset. Free assistance for income-eligible residents. Headstart childcare, health enrollment insurance, SNAP and NJ Healthcare enrollment, senior benefits enrollment, computer lab, info and assistance, language translation services, health screenings and referrals, energy and water payment assistance, discount cell phone program (SafeLink). Second location in Somerset County: Belmont Center, 113 Belmont Drive Somerset, NJ 08873. Several locations in Plainfield and Hoboken.

Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), Universal Service Fund (USF) and Weatherization

ABLE is a 529A tax-advantaged savings program for persons with a disability, which allows for saving money for qualified disability expenses, tax-free.

Somerset Community Action Program
Services for low to moderate income individuals. SCAP offers year round high quality full day childcare for infants through pre-k. Full day summer camp is available for school age students 6-13 years old. Subsidies are available through Community Childcare Solutions.
