Safe+Sound Somerset is recruiting a team of dedicated volunteers as Social Ambassadors to help us promote our organization, services, and education and fundraising campaigns.
Who – All volunteers of Safe+Sound Somerset, both 40-hour trained and not
When – Once you sign up, you are free to participate as much or as little as you choose.
What – With many of us sheltering-in-place and other changes of living in a COVID-19 world, people are on social media a lot more frequently to connect with others, stay up to date on news, and find ways to help. Being a Social Ambassador for S+SS is a unique online opportunity for volunteers.
Through quick and easy actions, Social Ambassadors serve as voices for S+SS and amplify our reach to new and potential clients, our community partners, and donors.
As a Social Ambassador, you will be asked to:
- “Follow” us on social media platforms which you use and share our posts with your groups.
- Make a “Call to Action” of your groups. This might mean asking them to attend a virtual event, share educational/outreach materials with their own groups, helping to organize a training with our SPEAK Community Outreach and Education department, or support an awareness or fundraising campaign.
- You can also help us expand our reach and impact by encouraging your followers to “Follow” us too or become Social Ambassadors themselves!
People are influenced by their peers. When other individuals praise us, it’s more credible than when we, the staff of S+SS, promote ourselves. We trust information that’s shared by people we know and will likely share it further if asked. It’s the psychological principle of social proof—the observation that people tend to look to what others do before making their own decisions.
