#CovidCantStopGOOD
Dear Friend,
We are living in unprecedented times.
I’m reaching out to you today because you’re a caring, compassionate member of the Safe+Sound Somerset community. With your support, we have accomplished great things to make healing and hope possible for survivors of domestic abuse and their children. Traditionally when I write to you, I would be asking for your support or your time.
Although what you do is critically important to the thousands we support each year, today I choose to break with tradition, forego the usual conversation, and turn the focus to you.
As important as we, the Safe+Sound Somerset family, are to you now is the time that you must turn inward and care for yourself and the families in your own homes – your children, partners, parents, and sisters and brothers. Until we get through the crisis that has been created by the coronavirus pandemic, that must be everyone’s primary focus. Now is a time that concern for ourselves, our own health and safety, and that of those whom we love is paramount.
Please be assured that the vital work of S+SS will go on during this crisis, because of people like you and the incredible dedication of the S+SS team. I know that you are committed to our mission to empower survivors of domestic abuse and engage the community to break the cycle of violence. In good times and bad, I know you’re with us. That’s what makes you special and fuels our resilience during this time of crisis.
I will keep in touch throughout this extraordinary journey to bring you up to date on what’s happening at Safe+Sound Somerset. But for now, please take care of you and those you hold dear.
In Gratitude,
Michele E. Boronkas

P.S. If I can be of help to you in any way, please let me know.
